connect with me
A midwestern girl who fell in love with the romance of the desert, I love ice cream, cooking for my friends, and loving people well.
hello, I'm tina!

Ever since I left Kansas City a year ago to start our new lives in Tucson, Arizona, I have been missing a very crucial part of what made my passion for photography and friendships thrive in the Midwest. Back home we had so many different photography groups, where we had a space to meet others in our field and learn from each other. I valued these groups very much, they were a big part of growing my business and referral base, and through it all, a majority of my best friendships have been culminated from within. So about a month ago, I started a local photography group on facebook for women Tucson photographers called “Clickin’ Chicks – Tucson Edition,” that includes ladies from all walks of life and in different stages of their businesses. The only requirement of the group is that you live/work in Tucson and that you love photography and culminating friendships. In this group I encourage everyone to be open, share, ask questions, be real, and learn… without any judgement. My goal is to have monthly get-togethers and photo walks and encourage each other with this passion we have been blessed with. Tonight was our third get-together, which was very casual and laid back. I hosted it at my house and we each brought a dish to share, watched a couple of clips from Tyler Wirken’s creativeLIVE broadcast on documentary wedding photography, shed a few tears on his touching stories, discussed what we learned, talked about our own philosophies behind why we do what we do, and enjoyed some girl time learning about each other and chatting about our businesses.
When us women get together, you can always count on great food! Without hardly any planning, we all seemed to bring the perfect dish to create a delicious and balanced meal. Featuring pesto & chicken pasta by Amber, strawberry shortcake skewers by Celesa, whole wheat pitas and Mediterranean hummus by Torey, merlot wine courtesy of Jennifer, and I made the BBQ meatballs and grilled artichokes (get the recipe here!).
Thank you ladies for coming over tonight, it was a joy getting to know each of you a little better! Can’t wait for our next meeting!
