Family has always been important to me. I come from a family of 7 children, forged through a blended family. When
my sister became paralyzed at the age of 14, I saw two separate families come together in love for her and for the relationships we all share as siblings. Facing a fire of tragedy together, not as two separate families, but as one whole family is what truly blended us together. While this time was devastating, so much beauty rose through it, both in our family and the community we are part of that I saw for the first time, the depth of the impact of family on my why. Healing relationships were formed, new strengths came to light and newfound tenderness was shown and together our family was stronger in the outcome.
More than creating perfectly composed portraits, it is my mission to create imagery that captures your character: the pure, candid love you have for each other and the familial relationships that built you into the people you are today.
From a visual standpoint, I love the way my designer took the picture that I painted of two families coming together and created a heart that is broken apart, as a symbolic detail that represents the two parts coming together to form a new family. The diamond at the bottom was added to balance out the logo and add another touch of modernity She chose a serif font to be dominant as to convey the elegance and trustworthiness of my brand, but with a nice san serif font for the supporting elements to keep it clean and modern.
I wanted it to be warm and accessible but also high-end and professional. Furthermore, the importance of family and legacy in my brand meant that the visuals should be nowhere near trendy, or too “glam,” and instead convey a certain sense of tradition and heritage while remaining fresh, modern, and friendly.
A soft color palette of blush, coppery gold, and dusty blue complements the airy romantic style of my photography while still honoring the more traditional values of the brand.
When it comes to my business, the thing I love about what I do is capturing moments and preserving the foundational relationships of family that built the couple into who they are on the day they are planting their own family root. As somebody who treasures the relationships I have with my family, I love knowing that I’m preserving those relationships that I photograph so that generations to come can see the foundational history that forged who they are.
THE TEAM BEHIND THE REBRAND
I want to thank several key people in making this rebrand a success. First of all, I’d like to thank my loving husband, family members, and best friends who have been there with open ears listening to me, support me, or even challenge my decisions. And of course, to my clients, who have shared loving words to use in testimonials and the features of the beautiful imagery you see all across my site.
The team who made this a reality is obviously a huge factor and I’d love to acknowledge each and every one of them for their contributions.
One of the first people to challenge me about discovering my WHY was my friend and mentor,
Chris Hsieh with
The Why Experience. He pushed me out of my comfort zone and took me through a series of brand awareness exercises to explore my strengths and weaknesses, both as a person and as a brand. We delved into finding unique characteristics about my business to really help me stand out from the competition. After dissecting the depths of my mind to figure out my “why,” I was able to move forward with a true purpose behind my words in every blog post and interaction on social media.
Where do I even begin… my experience with one of my best friends and copywriter,
Amber Lea Russell, was more than I ever imagined it would be. What started out as a need for a few paragraphs of text for my new website transformed into a life experience I will never forget. I had no idea that I would learn SO much about myself as a person and what I now see as my life’s mission. She helped me explore the real WHY behind my business and why I want to do what I do. I’ve done many exercises in the past that were supposed to help me figure out my why. However, this was the first time I was pushed to discover things in deep in my heart, bringing out deep-rooted emotions and stories from my past that gave meaning to my passion. I can’t thank her enough for not only being an invaluable resource to my business by providing a comfortable space where I can truly be myself. And she totally made me sound way cooler than I actually am 😉
And to the person behind
ALL of the new visuals of the brand, graphic and web designer Amanda Csakan with
Brand Epiphany. The first question I always get asked when I tell people I’m rebranding is, “but aren’t you a graphic designer?!” Believe me, I had many internal debates about outsourcing this project out to someone else when I did, in fact, get a college degree in graphic design. But I wanted someone who could transform my old brand into something that felt more customized, more “me,” and who would design it starting with my “why.” She had the perfect questions to build my brand from the ground up and involved me in every step of the way while creating my logo, business card, thank you card, and website. While it was hard to trust this part to someone else, I am SO glad I did! She was incredible to work with and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how it all turned out! Thank you thank you!
I love the meaning behind the broken heart logo! So beautiful and your new design really does show you shining through. I’m so proud to call you my friend and to have known how much time and thought you’ve put into this rebrand. You are amazing and have so much more to come. ❤️
That means so much to be Brittany, thank you thank you!!
I love your rebrand and how much more personal it feels but even more that I can get a huge sense of who you are as a person and not just as a photographer. My favorite part is the “Meet Tina” section and the personal statements you put in there. Xoxo
I really appreciate you sharing that with me Regina, thank you my friend 🙂
Tina, thank you so much for your kind words! 😭 was such an honor and a pleasure to work with you. Thank you for trusting me to flesh out something so close to your heart.❤️
Teen Bean, you never cease to amaze me!
You are a true artist in so many different ways….
What you create will live on in generations to come, what a legacy
to leave !
Love,
