About this time last year we started a local Clickin’ Chicks group for women photographers in Tucson, Arizona. Since then it has grown to over 100 amazingly talented women from all different walks of life, specializing in every type of photography. Our goal is to meet about once a month and network, shoot, or just learn something new. Last night was a great reminder of how we can put competition aside and really push each other to learn more about our craft… together. And having a great time while we’re at it!
For this month’s get-together we had about 20 ladies get together to meet and mingle at Amalour Revival Lounge in Tucson, Arizona. They have some of the yummiest food in Tucson and perfect for even the most particular foodies, not to mention their restaurant is super stylish with their upscale atmosphere! Then we went out to the courtyard to “play” and shoot some beautiful models and practiced posing and finding great light. Right before sunset we taught some off-camera flash techniques to learn how to add a little extra flair to our images and not be bound by natural, available light.

This is our adorable couple of the evening, Hannah and Joey, who simply could not be any cuter together!!

And without further adieu… the paparazzi!!

At sunset, we took over the courtyard and set up our lights to learn some off-camera flash!

Thanks Torey for being my VAL (Voice Activated Lighstand)!

And photo bombs from random old little ladies are always welcome! 😛

We even had the honor of photographing one of our own, Marie Cameron, who was out to dinner with her family at a restaurant nearby!

Then we ended our night with dinner and drinks at Amalour… full of laughs, cries, and encouragement. Thank you ladies for all you mean to me and for really pouring yourselves into our community of photographers.

What a terrific time!!
