Once a month a bunch of photographers in the Kansas City area get together for PUG meetings, a great opportunity to meet and network with other photographers and learn from a featured speaker. This month we had the honor of having Jared Platt, a wedding photojournalist based out of Arizona, visit and teach us about his Adobe Lightroom selection process for about an hour and a half.
We also each got a free Organic Bloom frame! They have so many shapes, sizes and colors to choose from! Check out their beautiful and affordable frames at www.TheOrganicBloom.com.

After Jared spoke at the PUG meeting, I knew I had to come back the next day for more! He had full 8-hour day workshop on Lightroom that I knew would be extremely beneficial to my business (and sanity) to save hours working on photos, but still provide beautiful photos in the end. Adobe Lightroom is my favorite editing program in combination with Adobe Photoshop. Jared taught us his entire workflow and how to cut our own workflow time down by half! He spoke about storing photos on hard drives and how to back everything up, how everything is organized, quite a bit about the develop module, and how to export all of the final files. He also provided us tons of keyboard shortcuts, which I am finding extremely helpful. I have already started to apply what I learned at his workshop and I am amazed at how much it is helping me. I would definitely recommend going to one of Jared’s workshops if you ever get the chance! Here’s the group of us who attended the full day workshop:

A few pictures of some of Jared, Christina (PUG group leader), and I. Also a couple pics Christina’s beautiful, blue-eyed baby boy, Isaac.

WOW, a nice opportunity that you’re doing so well with and having fun!!!
Thanks for the post and the kind words. I had a great time. Thanks for having me.
