Amy & Ryan | Oracle Arizona Wedding | Tucson Wedding Photographers

Amy and Ryan’s wedding was straight out of a fairy-tale and being a wedding in November, we were blessed with pretty much perfect weather. I was swooning over their soft wedding color palette of dusty rose, ivory, golds, and greenery with florals made up of succulents, roses, eucalyptus, carnations, and baby’s breathe. When Amy first sent me a photo of her long-sleeved, lace wedding gown, I was in awe and I could not wait to photograph it!

They got married outdoors at the church where they met, with the most beautiful view of the Catalina Mountains behind them in Oracle, a small town just north of Tucson, Arizona. Amy’s sister made the stunning wooden arch for the backdrop of their ceremony and their whole family took part in the decorating and set-up, even down to the homemade wedding favors of their “Let Love Grow” theme. And we had the most dreamy, whimsical light for their husband and wife photos <3

One of my favorite parts of their wedding was right before their vows when they performed a foot washing ceremonyto honor each other humbly in front of God and all of their family and friends. In John 13: 1-17, Jesus washed his disciples feet and instructed that we should do the same. This foot washing ceremony is based on the idea of service to each other, each becoming less so that the other and thus the couple could become more.

Another favorite aspect of this particular wedding was the fact that my very own sister, Kat Collett, flew in all the way from Kansas City just to do Amy and her girls’ hair and makeup. We make one of the best teams and it was so fun getting to work together again!

I knew ever since working with them during their desert sweetheart session in Tucson, Arizona that they were totally natural in front of the camera. It has been a pleasure getting to know you both and meet your kiddos and wonderful families at the wedding. I can’t wait to see what God does as you begin your lives together as a family!
