If you don’t know by now, I love cake. Like really, REALLY love cake and in fact, it’s one of my top used emojis 😳🍰😂 So for our wedding, we bought this three-tiered, scrumptious, oh so delicious, white cake stuffed with champagne-infused filling and covered in BRIGHT blue frosting. For weeks leading up to the wedding, I talked to EVERYBODY I knew about how yummy this cake was and how I couldn’t wait for them to try it!
Well.. come the reception… I get my slice and then smash it into Cody’s face (of course) and then the sheet cakes were served to everyone else and we kept the big tiered cake for our brunch the next day, and low and behold, the sheet cakes were NOT filled with the champagne filling. I was pretty upset, but mostly because I was talking it up so much and then no one got to try it at the wedding and they were totally missing out!

Oh well.. we’ll just bring it to our Sunday brunch the next day so our closest family and friends could try it there, sure!
So I’m on the phone with my mom, who was responsible for bringing the cake to the park for our brunch… And all of a sudden, l hear “oooohh my ggawwwddd, the CAKE!!!” Wait… WHAT?! 😳 What do you mean THE CAKE, MOM?!?! After a few moments of silence, while she collected herself and accesses the situation, she nonchalantly says, “it’s okay, we’ll see you at there! BYE!” and hangs up! 😁
Well… THIS is proof of what happened to THE CAKE… It’s too bad I didn’t get a photo of what happened to my mom! 😂
Needless to say… NO ONE got ANY of my delicious, bright blue wedding cake. But I don’t even care. It made for one of the BEST stories from our wedding weekend and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’ve spoken with several of my brides after their wedding and they’ve mentioned things that went wrong, what could have been better, etc. and things that probably no one but themselves and maybe a few people close to them even knew about. I’ve always said, there are so many things I would change about my own wedding… except the groom, of course 😜 Over the years I’ve learned to let go, lighten up, and live a little and not let the small things get to you. A wedding day, just like marriage, isn’t mean to be perfect. Stuff happens and whether it be happy, sad, or downright hilarious, it is all part of what makes up your day and will live on through stories and your photos.

I love this story…not sure I’ve ever heard it, but then, I am getting old 🙂
Tina, are you sure you didn’t crash the cake so you wouldn’t have to share it? I love this story, especially since I know first hand how much you love cake. Haha…
