Luke’s proposal to Dominique is one to remember! “He proposed to me on Christmas Eve…since it was cold and a storm was coming, he decided to organize a day for just us up on Mt. Lemmon. Luke “last minute” suggested to bring my camera so we could take some cute couple photos and me, being a photographer, I want to document EVERYTHING and so I was super excited he wanted to do this, especially because he is not a huge fan of taking photos. Luke was really into the weather the whole way up, which I was a little confused about because he doesn’t like the cold, but kept mentioning how fun it would be if it started snowing while we were up there. We found a cute spot, I set up my tripod and we started taking some cute posed photos. I was so excited that I blanked on poses (it’s much easier posing other people vs. yourself), so Luke suggested HE would pose us for one. I thought, “wow! he is really into this!” I got the camera all set up to Luke’s liking, put it on self-timer, and ran to him. He just stared at me, and asked “what are you going to do?” I sighed, and said I thought you had an idea! Then Luke said, well how about this… AND HE WENT DOWN ON ONE KNEE! Got it photographed and everything after! It was perfect! It didn’t snow while he proposed, but after the proposal, I was taking pictures of the ring and a full-on blizzard hit us. So he got his snow, I got my picture, and it was super intimate.” Seriously… how exciting is their love story?!
The morning I woke up for Dominique and Luke’s sweetheart session, the weather forecast said it was going to be cloudy all day. Now y’all know I love my desert light, but they trusted me to do what I do, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how their images turned out! Ya see, when I lived in Kansas City I had to shoot with overcast skies often, so when they (rarely) show up here in Arizona, it opens up the possibilities of where we can shoot since the sun is no longer dictating where we go! Her talented sister at Gaetana Hair Salon did an incredible job on her soft, braided hairstyle to complement Dominique’s romantic look. I love how they made their country, cowboy-inspired outfits look chic and stylish! Thank you both for trusting me; I had a blast getting to know you guys better, and I can’t wait for your wedding at St. Ann’s Chapel & Ranch!
I love the ‘story’! Beautiful couple, scenery, Everything! Wonderful pictures!
