We are in the season when rain clouds come and go so quickly here in Tucson. The day of Katherine and Eli’s sweetheart session was no exception and we had a forecast of cloudy skies with a decent chance of precipitation. But alas, we ended up having the perfect amount of time to photograph them before the rain began later that evening. We started out with some downtown modern engagement photos in Tucson, Arizona and then headed out to the desert for those sweet snuggles by the cactus, lol. These two were able to spend an evening laughing and loving on each other while playing lots of fun little games to take their minds off of the fact that we were taking pictures, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! As I recommend in my engagement session style guide, he wore a well-fitted suit (and some pretty stylish socks, I might add) which paired nicely with Katherine’s glamorous black gown and stiletto heels. Her hair, lashes, and airbrush makeup were styled by Jackie at Heat: A Blow Dry Lounge.
Two years ago, Katherine and Eli were visiting family and friends here in Tucson for the holidays and he planned to propose to her while at a surprise stay at the JW Starr Pass Marriott. She almost ruined the surprise when she made plans with some friends that she hadn’t seen in years that evening, but Eli was able to roll with it and included them in on the proposal at the last minute! He asked Katherine to marry him near one of the fireplaces on the patio after getting her best friend to distract her while he got down on one knee. And how thoughtful is this… he designed the engagement ring based on his grandmother’s antique diamond; very simple and clean!
Some really beautiful pictures. I’m sorry I can’t attend the reception.
