Sloan & Garrett | Desert Engagement Session | Tucson Wedding Photographers

Sloan and Garrett’s desert engagement session was a testament that you can get through anything life throws your way. We had sun, rain, wind, a rainbow, and ended as a lightning-filled monsoon started downpouring on us. Yet they seemed unphased by everything going on around us and solely focused on each other and the whole adventure of it all! What a great foundation for marriage! 💗

I often get asked if we should reschedule engagement sessions if the weather forecast isn’t sunny, and as long as it’s not completely downpouring, a little bit of rain and cloud can totally work in your favor! This allows us to go anywhere in open land without having to worry about squinting or harsh shadows caused by the sun. It also brings out some of the richer green colors in the desert and helps give dimension to your backgrounds instead of bright white skies. For Garrett and Sloan’s engagement session, what started as a sunny spot quickly turned cloudy. Once the rain caught up to us and we started getting sprinkled on, we drove down the road a bit to another spot where there wasn’t any rain (and just so happened to catch a beautiful rainbow peeking out in the background!). So don’t let a little bit of rain scare you and trust your photographer to deliver gorgeous images of the two of you!

We connected over our love for food and passion for serving others and I am so glad to have met this beautiful couple. They have endured a year of being in a long-distance relationship and Sloan will soon be moving to Florida to finally be back together and I couldn’t be more happy for the two of them. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch in March 2020!
