connect with me
A midwestern girl who fell in love with the romance of the desert, I love ice cream, cooking for my friends, and loving people well.
hello, I'm tina!

Where do I even begin? Sara is one of my oldest friends… we go WAY back, and in fact, we met in the 6th grade… 22 years ago! I remember when she messaged me on Snapchat asking me to give her call her when I had the chance. As she began to tell me ALL about Viktor, I instantly felt the excitement emerge through her voice. She told me how they met at a networking event, and what was supposed to be a networking coffee meeting, turned into a 4-hour dinner date! They delved deep into conversation, so much so, that they lost track of time and almost missed their movie for the evening. We met up while both visiting our hometown in Kansas City for Thanksgiving, and I had the opportunity to meet this man that I had heard so much about and was overjoyed with how much they love each other. After that, I was SO excited when Sara and Viktor invited me out to celebrate with them at their destination wedding at Garden Grove Wedding Venue in Austin, Texas!!
I had the honor of traveling to Texas with some other friends who go way back (one even to kindergarten!) and joining in on all the festivities for the weekend, like a catered dinner by Austin’s infamous Salt Lick BBQ! This Kansas City girl was living her dream of getting to eat bar-be-que and photographing a wedding all in one weekend! The weather was teasing us, going back and forth from terrential downpour to a light mist, and praise Jesus, it stopped just in time for their outdoor wedding ceremony!! It’s supposed to be good luck to have rain on your wedding day, and I’m a testament to that since it rained on my own wedding day 10 years ago!
Sunflowers were the overarching theme of the day, as it’s Sara’s favorite flower, and also the state flower of Kansas, her home state. Just wait until you see how stunning she looked in her champagne wedding gown with plunging neckline and lace-beaded details covering the back. Her bridesmaids wore dusty blue chiffon gowns while the groomsmen were dressed in navy suits, Viktor’s favorite color. I love how she surprised both her dad and Viktor with personalized notes on the backside of the ties that they would wear down the aisle. The dinner tables were adorned in champagne table cloths with navy lace runners and cloth napkins. The centerpieces were composed of sunflowers and daisies in mason jars sitting on rustic slices of wood. Alexis and Jordyn with Simply XO Events did a phenomenal job in creating a gorgeous and memorable day for this couple!
Thanks to you, Sara and Viktor, and all your family and friends, for letting me in on the excitement and joy as you celebrated the beginning of your lives together!
