It was a beautiful, Spring day with a slight breeze and warm sunshine. D and B wedding day started off with an early afternoon ceremony at the gorgeous outdoor rotunda at The Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. This was an extra special location, as I myself, got married at this very church almost 10 years ago and where I first became a Christian. During their wedding ceremony, they shared personal vows that had their guests both laughing and crying. They entertained us with some light-hearted humor and also spoke about some of life’s struggles and hardships they have endured together. I love how they made their wedding party was unique by utilizing their best friends to serve as the man-of-honor and best-woman. Additionally, Brandon’s two children were incorporated as a very important part of the ceremony to celebrate the significance of them becoming a family. After the ceremony, we drove to Lenexa for an easy-going, intimate reception filled with their closest friends and family. This Kansas City wedding at the Union Horse Distilling Co. was the perfect venue location for them.
Hannah, with聽Bridal Path Weddings & Events, truly outdid herself and put on an incredible event. When I had the chance to meet Hannah in person last year, there was no doubt we would work well together, as our friendship immediately felt like we had known each other our whole lives! She is an excellent communicator, detail-driven, and left no detail unfinished. The reception at the distillery had a dark and moody vibe with black, grey, gold accents, with white calla lilies in the centerpieces. I LOVED their message in a bottle guest book idea, where their guests wrote words of wisdom and marriage advice on pieces of paper and put them in dedicated yearly bottles that they would open on future anniversaries! They also gifted super cute luggage tags and caricature drawings as wedding favors for their guests. I also had the pleasure of a unique opportunity to work with my baby sister, Anna, who is an up-and-coming KC videographer with this being her very first wedding!
One of my favorite moments was when D took the time to slow down during the fast-pace of the day and placed a corsage on each of her three mama’s wrists. During this time, she shared with them some kind words of praise and appreciation for being an integral part of the strong, amazing woman that she has become. Another special moment was half-way through the father-daughter dance with D and her dad, B pulled his little girl onto the dance floor, and the same thing during the mother-son dance and D danced with Brandon’s son. Thank you both for bringing me out to Kansas City for your wonderful wedding and getting the chance to celebrate life with you!
