Kathya & Henry | Arizona Desert Engagement Session | Tucson, AZ

What can I say… Kathya and Henry were an absolute JOY to work with during their Arizona desert engagement session. Do they not have the most contagious smiles?? You can feel the genuine laughter just looking at that first photo! It is a fun challenge for me to get a couple to relax and look completely natural in their photos with having never met me other than a FaceTime meeting prior to the session. This was certainly no exception. It was one of the windiest days in Tucson that we’ve had in a long time, but I wasn’t worried and actually love how it turned out. It brought this glowy haze to the background when the sun hit the dust particles, and plus, I always think hair blowing in the air makes for more romantic, in-the-moment type of images by creating movement.

You have to hear how their love story goes… they’ve known each other for about 10 years, but around 5 years ago her best friend, sister, and her husband planned a trip to Vegas, and Henry and Kathya decided to tag along. As soon as they got to Vegas, Kathya immediately went to the sportsbook to place her bets. Henry is a baseball fanatic (which he quickly learned that she is too) and the chemistry began. Over this last summer, they went to Vegas again and he typed up his own betting sheet and asked her to marry him on the bottom of the sheet as they went to place their bets!!! Is that not one of the most unique and sweetest proposal stories you’ve ever heard?! And guess what… after their sweetheart session, they literally took an impromptu road trip that night for a quick weekend trip to Vegas… how cool are they!? I love their spontaneity 😉 It was such a pleasure meeting you guys and I hope you love reliving that fun day through these images!
